I am 88 out of 100– which is good, but I STILL have to go to other neighborhoods to shop because my neighborhood doesn’t offer enough diversity in grocery shopping, boutiques, restaurants. What we do have is awesome– great mexican restaurants and dollar stores a very few niche boutiques and cafes that I very much hope make it. Support local and continue to let your alderman know what’s missing in your hood… Go Logan Square!

My address received a score of 72 out of 100. I actually thought the score for my area (Humbolt Park) would be lower. I really like how this tool tells you all of the nearest grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, movie theaters, schools, parks, libraries, book stores, pharmacies, hardware stores and more! I found out about some stores in my neighborhood that I had previously been unaware of.

I donated my car (and joined I-GO) because I found myself walking everywhere and almost never using my car unless I’m driving out to the suburbs. WalkScore says that my East Lakeview location is a 91! Whoo-hoo! I knew I made the right decision! 🙂

So I just moved this past weekend and I checked Walkscore to see the difference between my old neighborhood, Humboldt Park, which scored a decent 83 out of 100 and my new neighborhood, Ukrainian Village, which scored an impressive 95 our of 100. I’m very happy to be in a more lively spot with great transportation access.
